KaDeWe and the Italian cult brand illy present an impressive pop-up café in the atrium of the legendary KaDeWe from 2-25 September 2010. The highlight of this event is the installation by German artist Tobias Rehberger, winner of the Biennale di Venezia 2009, who provides you with a unique experience of interior space. Geometric shapes with unusual design lines create the sensation of moving between an optical illusion and reality. The main feature of this installation is an espresso bar which beautifully combines the art of design and coffee.
International artists have been invited to give talks as part of ‘Galleria illy @ KaDeWe’. They include Spanish food designer Martí Guixé, architect and designer Matteo Thun, authors Tillmann Rammstedt and Moritz Rinke and star chef Norbert Niederkofler.
The opening of ‘galleria illy(at)KaDeWe’ took place on Thursday 2 September at 8.30pm in the theme hall of the KaDeWe.
Ursula Vierkötter, MD of the KaDeWe, Andrea lly, Chairman and CEO of illycaffè, and Tobias Rehberger welcomed international guests from the world of art and culture.
